Cothran Harris Architecture is a full service Architectural and Interior Design office celebrating our twelfth year in business. The four-man office has worked on a variety of projects including private residences, multi-family projects, and medical offices, commercial and industrial projects. We can provide traditional architectural design, three-D visualization as well as physical models. The office can provide electronic files to the client for facility management. Residential projects range from 600 square foot garage apartments to 200,000 square foot apartment complexes. We have designed over one hundred custom residences for private clients. Custom residences include projects on the side of Sugar and Black Mountains, oceanfront cottages on Wrightsville Beach and Bald Head Island, NC. Commercial projects have included the design of car dealerships, factory buildings, an art center, a shipyard facility, yacht club renovations, warehouses and multifamily projects. Private residences designed by the firm have been featured in Mid-Atlantic and Metropolitan Home magazines. Clients with which we have helped prepare long term goals include the Carolina Yacht Club, Baughman Toyota, TTT Trucks and Parts, Biltmark Third Street Development Center and Bennett Brothers Yachts. Mr. Harris is registered to practice architecture in North and South Carolina. He has been a registered architect in North Carolina for over sixteen years. He holds degrees in design from North Carolina State and Syracuse Universities. Cothran Harris has served as a consultant with Landfall Associates for over nine years, assisting with the Architectural Review Guidelines and as a consultant with Bald Head Island Development.

PREDESIGN SERVICES We provide help for clients before they decide to build. We can find things out like the current setbacks, the permit costs and time requirements. Then we can work with you to develop a budget based on available square footages on a lot, your quality requirements and the style of the house. You make an informed decision on whether to proceed based on these predesign services.
DESIGN SERVICES We provide design services based on the requirements of our clients. We have worked with clients who lived in Dallas, Philadelphia, and Warsaw Poland while their homes were being designed and constructed. These clients required drawings that were more complete and more extensive construction review than local clients. The level of service we provide and therefore the cost of our services is based on our client's needs, not on a percentage of construction cost. We believe providing full architectural, interior and construction administration services provides the best value to the client. However, we will work with a client to provide services on a pick and choose basis.
BEACH COTTAGES We design traditional and contemporary beach cottages based on aesthetic design, the best available test data for wind resistance, window performance, and life cycle costing of materials. Our goal is to provide aesthetic value by maximizing views, providing a functional interior plan, and combining the parts of the plan into a well balanced elevation.
